What is DVelum and how can it be used?

DVelum is a toolkit for developing projects with a web interface, be it a simple site, an electronic document management system or an hardware management interface. It combines the features of framework, cms, development environment, database management interface and update package builder.

How is DVelum different from other frameworks and cms/smf?

The main difference lies in the system’s unparalleled performance parameters and a number of graphic tools for projects’ development and publication.

Is the platform free?

Yes, the platform is distributed under the GNU GPL v3 license, absolutely free of charge.

What about more ‘how to’ reviews, documentation articles and screencasts?

Yes, we plan on adding lots of learning materials and are working on them day in, day out!

Is the system compatible with Windows?

The system is currently not fully compatible with Windows and you might experience problems using some of the components. However, it is already possible to launch the software in Windows. We continue working on the compatibility issues.

Is the system easy to use for inexperienced programmers?

With its graphical interfaces, the system is quite easy to grasp even for beginners, however to implement a serious project on this platform, you might need to be familiar with Extjs4 functionalities and object-oriented programming in PHP.

Is DVelum going to be available under a commercial license?

We would be more than happy to provide a double license option for our Users. However, currently we are not large-scale enough to afford the Sencha OEM license, develop and launch a commercial product.

This is why, in the near future we'd like to focus on deploying and supproting the project under an open source license.
